I remember hearing about Disgaea from those of you who played it back at GHS when you were still "allowed" by popular social law to carry a PSP or DS on your person at all times. I was, at first, a little skeptical, but it continued to intrigue me. Some time ago, I found the manga and decided, out of interest and implied reccomendation, to read it. It wasn't epic, but I did manage to power through a few volumes. I kind of liked it, though I seem to remember it being a little tough to follow.

Then a little while ago, Disgaea DS came out and Aya grabbed a copy. And out of sheer curiosity and a stretch of the bank book, I picked one up myself.

This game steals your soul. I have spent a (listed in game) total of about 55 hours on the game in the last less-than-a-week. Now, normally, I spend that much time on any game in a week or so, with multi-tasking and just randomly leaving the game on, open, and charging while I do something else for a while. Bad habit, I know, but I'm pretty busy.

However, I'd be willing to say that maybe 75-80% of that time, compared to maybe 50-60% with other games (except maybe Pokemon), is actual play time. This game has me awesomely hooked. And no, it's not the reason I'm up this late *tonight*.... but it has gotten pretty close to doing that kind of damage.

Nope, tonight it's sitting over there. Waaaay over there below my bed.... So when I wake up...

In other news, Aya and I dressed up as us for Halloween. I carried the staff I made myself, and she had her sword. Most people on campus, though, haven't seen our characters, so we were a little tough on most people's unedumakated brainz. She was mistaken for Luna, the Sailor Moon cat once or twice, and people thought I looked like Al from FMA. I think it was the cape that did it. I couldn't find my robe, and though I didn't have the gloves or the nifty metal arm, I have seen enough (very little) of the show to know why.

Anyway, it's late, and I'm wired. I gotta find a way to burn all this power off before too long...
